SIA "TERMOLAT" has concluded the study "Capacity sensors for roof monitoring", implemented within the project (project No. 1.2.1.1/18/A/001) "Energy and Transport Competence Center". The study was conducted from April 1, 2019 to March 31, 2020.

Capacitive sensors in the form of a wire pair are the most suitable for JMS monitoring. If the ILFR (Impulse Time Function Reflexometry) method is used to measure them, then:

- the cost of materials required for construction is reduced by 2 times, because only one one-way sensor system is needed for localization of the damage site (in other cases, 2 mutually perpendicular sensor systems are needed);

- Construction costs are reduced by more than 4 times, because it is only necessary to insert a pair of wires in the gaps between the thermal insulation blocks. Therefore, low-skilled labor can be used;

- Both the coordinates of the damage and the length of the damaged section can be determined;

- By slightly modifying the same method, the deformation of building elements, such as the ceiling, under the influence of load can be controlled, thus protecting the building from collapsing;

- By placing the sensor (a pair of wires) under the thermal insulation, the formation of condensate can be controlled;

- Easy to automate the control;

- Control takes place continuously 24 hours a day;

- The amount of moisture can also be measured.
